Dominique Grantham is a London-based portrait painter whose practice is rooted in the classical traditions of oil painting, enriched by a contemporary sensibility. Her work captures the individuality and emotional depth of her subjects, whether they are public figures or private commissions.

Dominique’s formal training includes a BA in Fine Art from West Surrey College of Art and Design, an MA from Chelsea School of Art, and further study at the London Atelier of Representational Art (LARA), where she honed her skills in classical portraiture. This rigorous academic foundation informs her nuanced approach to composition, light, and form.

Her portraits have been exhibited at the BP Portrait Award at The National Portrait Gallery and are featured in the publication 500 Portraits: 25 Years of the BP Portrait Award. Notable commissions include portraits of athlete Dwain Chambers, Lord Robin Corbett MP, and actress Hermione Norris.

Dominique’s work is characterised by its quiet intimacy and attention to the subtleties of human expression. Through her portraits, she seeks to convey not just a likeness but a deeper sense of presence and personality. Each painting is a collaborative process, inviting the viewer into a moment of shared familiarity, offering a contemplative lens on the spaces and relationships that define us. Her portfolio includes both formal commissions and personal studies. Dominique continues to accept portrait commissions and exhibits her work online and through select exhibitions.
